Procedure
To edit an existing brokerage account:
Click the My Settings tab from the Zecco Navigation panel at the top of the page. The My Settings page displays.
Click the Edit Brokerage Account link under Maintain your accounts. The My Settings: Edit Account Info page displays.
Select the account to edit from the Select Account drop-down list.
The brokerage name is automatically set to Zecco in the Brokerage Name drop-down list.
Select the type of account from the Account Type drop-down list. GainsKeeper is designed to help you manage your investments from a tax perspective, so it is advantageous to add taxable accounts to your portfolio. However, you can also enter your IRA and 401k accounts into your portfolio. By default, all accounts are set to Taxable. Click here to view options for this field.

Mark-to-Market
Type a brokerage description in the Account Description/No. field. You can use your actual account number as the description, but it is not required. If you plan to create multiple brokerage accounts in your GainsKeeper portfolio, it is important to enter descriptions that enable you to tell the difference between each account. For example, descriptions such as "My IRA" or "My Options Account" provide a description of the account's function that will help distinguish the accounts when recording trades.
Select the status from the Visible/Hide Status drop-down list.
Select the appropriate options in the Tax Efficient Selling table. For the displayed tax year, set the selling methodology for your portfolio to either HIFO or FIFO (default). For mutual funds, select whether sells should be made using the same methodology as your portfolio, or if they should be made using Average Cost.
To save your changes, click the Save button.
