Considerations
The transaction date has to be prior to the baseline date. Make the necessary change and resubmit your transaction entry. You should enter your original purchase date, total cost and share amount as of the chosen 'baseline date' - 12/31/98 in this example. GainsKeeper will not adjust for corporate actions prior to 1/1/1999, so you need to enter the share amount and cost basis including any changes due to corporate actions prior to your chose 'baseline date'. Also, adjust your shares and cost for sells (or closing transactions) that impacted the cost basis and shares for the chosen 'baseline date'. You can then enter/import your subsequent trades with trade dates after 1/1/1999. For further information, see baselining positions.
